Know-how and passion have led to the production of renowned extra virgin olive oils. In this place, olives are a traditional culture that has lasted for over 1000 years. Back then, the Romans laid the foundation for olive cultivation in Vodnjan. Some of the estate's 3000 trees are already over 400 years old. As early as the 1940s, Grandpa Matteo began producing oil for the family's needs or for local sale using the local hydraulic press. His sons Lorenzo and Livio are the proud owners of around 8 hectares of olive groves with an annual production of around 1800 kilograms. The third generation has now taken over. Matteo Belci wants to bring his olive oil to top European restaurants. We are therefore delighted that Meloto has found a new partner in Masino. The Meloto brand is named after great-grandmother Melota.

The family has dedicated itself to traditional varieties that produce an exceptionally high quality. Buža as an old autochthonous variety and Istarska bjelica, Rosulja and above all the rediscovered Žižolera.
The Belci family's olive oil was awarded 96 out of 100 points in the Flos Olei 2018. This means a place among the 20 best olive oils in the world. The quality of the oils from this manufacturer is based on the Italian style, which places particular emphasis on aromatic and spicy oils that should not be too bitter.
